My father-in-law is classic Bufton-Tufton and he's been viscerally disgusted for months now. With the exception of the Johnson government on immigration, I've never seen a deeper elite-versus-masses divide than this in my lifetime & this one is unambigiously wrong versus right.
Don't think they're successfully controlling public opinion on this one

Netanyahu has never said that if the hostages are released this would end. Quite the contrary. He refused to negotiate the second phase and end the war and refuses to trade all the hostages for an end to the war. Not sure where you are getting this.
23 July 1903. Ford Motor Company, created by Henry Ford, delivered its 1st car, the 2-cylinder Model A Ford (pictured). The 1st owner was Ernest Pfennig, a Chicago dentist, who bought it for $850 (worth $19,000 today).
"The government said it would slash foreign aid spending by 40% ... to increase defence spending ... after pressure from the US." (Unusually frank).bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…
I appreciate all manner of motivations, because otherwise history makes no sense at all: but at some points I do just stand back appalled and wonder why a generation in its solipsism decides to mark, brand, shame and degrade the name of their nation for generations to come.
"In a sign of the growing chasm between decision-makers and the broader public on the issue, ... the war in Gaza has led to unprecedented interest among students in Palestine coursework and scholarship." theguardian.com/education/2025…

WARNING: GRAPHIC CONTENT A six-week-old infant and three other children died of starvation in Gaza in the past 24 hours, local health officials said, with malnutrition now killing Palestinians faster than at any point in the 21-month war reut.rs/4kOWUeE
Zelensky and Yermak dismantled one of the US/EU's primary means of granular leverage over Ukraine politics, the anti-corruption bureaus. This loss of leverage & local allies helps explain the western media's recent turn against Zelensky. x.com/Tatarigami_UA/…
A major and unpopular decision, opposed by many in Ukraine, was adopted by the Parliament: changes to the functioning of two independent anti-corruption bodies. Essentially, they’ve been shifted from somewhat independent institutions to ones subservient to the Presidential Office
What's so shocking/thrilling about this clip is to hear someone from the media elites with a big audience saying what's plainly obvious about Nord Stream, one of many verboten topics in that class. Elite failure has meant opportunity for people like Tucker x.com/philippilk/sta…
Watching Tucker take this fake German journalist apart over Nordstream and Germany being a humiliated vassal is one of the cringiest things I’ve ever watched. But it tells you where Germany is as a country right now. Very sad. 🇩🇪📉
Words, words, words. Where is the arms embargo? Where are the sanctions?
Civilians cannot be targets. Never. The images from Gaza are unbearable. The EU reiterates its call for the free, safe and swift flow of humanitarian aid. And for the full respect of international and humanitarian law. Civilians in Gaza have suffered too much, for too long.…
Straight-up evil. A curse on his depraved and rotten soul. That he is an elected representative is an irredeemable disgrace on his electorate.
Release the hostages. Until then, starve away. (This is all a lie anyway. It amazes me that the media continues to regurgitate Muslim terror propaganda.)
Just been here, near Bangor in North Wales. Would heartily recommend if you've got kids.greenwoodfamilypark.co.uk
The first problem is that the resources of the companies dwarfs that of the regulator. Water companies have a combined revenue of £12bn. Ofwat’s annual budget is around £30m Companies outspend and outgun the regulator every step of the way. Replacing Ofwat won’t change this
The organisation was full of smart but highly doctrinal economists attached to the textbook model of free markets + competition, and blind to the dynamics of power and rent extraction Public ownership - the norm across the world - was seen as “backwards”
