I realised today that it's 10 years since I first doodled a whale on a rooftop, and 5 years since Orphans of the Tide was published. I can’t quite believe that I still receive letters from readers about it, and am so grateful to the teachers&librarians who champion it to this day

I had a lovely time @kidslitfest today. The event was sold out. Waterstones sold out of Hunt for the Golden Scarabs, and all the readers I met were wonderful. Huge thanks goes to all the unpaid organisers & volunteers who care so much about inspiring children to read. 🥰📚
