I’m not a professor in title (just helped with one single class @ManuelaTSS) but other than that @pedrosovsa, Sonia and Simão did a great job helping us handle the Powerful Women in Their Own Words Conference 😂
Professor @justme_inesofia is now presenting her communication about Filipa de Coimbra!
Hot take: peer-reviewer's names should always be disclosed to the author and/or reader, for the sake of transparency and to credit their work. Keeping the anonymity all the way doesn't mean the review is fairer in all cases, but it certainly allows for "unhealthy" circumstances.
A quick snap from #KQ14, by Catarina Azevedo Silva. Thank you to all who made the conference possible: first and foremost, the other members of the organising committee. I run around to keep everything working, an impossible task without @CH_ULisboa and all volunteers!

What a brilliant evening at the opening of the @britishlibrary exhibit 'Medieval Women: In Their Own Words' —absolutely unmissable! Honoured to have contributed to the companion book alongside @MedievalFemina. Superb work from @BLMedieval bringing this amazing project to life.
Question for the book nerds: if the cover is the only problem, would you keep it? @monarchyconf and @routledgebooks this might be a production issue you #queenship

Wi-Fi issues made live tweeting rather impossible today but here are a few highlights from Day 1 of Gratia Dei Regina—including wonderful papers from the Portuguese queenship crew @justme_inesofia @barreto_davila & Ana Maria Rodriguez and some lively discussions…
Day 2 of Gratia Dei Regina was held in the historic surroundings of the Archives Nationales—exciting to present in such stunning surroundings! Excellent papers today including Aragonese examples from @Lledo_Ruiz & Alexandra Beauchamp + perspectives of archivists (seals galore!!)
OK, our final -and biggest- Loeb give-away for the summer: 31 of them by the looks of it! Sophocles, Euripides, Cicero, Sallust, Suetonius, and the dirtiest poet of all, Martial in 3 vols. Draw 10pm Thurs BST: just RT and follow us before then! And vote below for 1 or 2 winners!
#IMC2024 is almost at an end. I've attended lots of sessions (@munarqas, @royalstudies, @SSMEmotions @NoblewomenNetw, with time to wonder to others). I gave a paper, learned a lot, met colleagues and friends, got some books. It's always such a fun learning experience! @IMC_Leeds
Am I the only savage that takes their notes in the @IMC_Leeds Programme book, under the session I'm attending? #IMC2024
Hi #IMC2024! Here I am, running around in a full morning with too many sessions I want to attend... I decided to come to #s115, to learn about something I'm not too familiar with: research about economic inequality in Iberia. (Mainly in the Crown of Aragon).
I'm really late to say this but... I'm back from #KQ13 Paris. I really enjoyed my time there! Learned a lot, met new and "old" people, chatted, toured a bit and saw beautiful things! Yay!! One good thing of #Academiclife: working without feeling like it's work in a positive way.
I'm trying to wrap-up the first "conclusionless" version of a chapter for my thesis and the imposter syndrome is starting to hit: I've been reading books and papers by other people that have mentioned some topics I'm working on. #PhDlife

Something interesting about this: I can see the echo of 15th century critics in Portugal about the foreignness of a consort queen.
¿Podemos abrir el melón de que la persona que fue Reina de España durante casi 40 no sabe español? Es algo inaceptable… (🎥 Casa Real, editado por @Josemn1_ )
Hi! Anybody has access to “Supplication, Authority, Militancy: Epistolary Conventions and Rhetorical Strategies in Letters by Female Members of the Burgundian Dynasty (Fifteenth Century)”, by Margreet Brandsma (The Medieval Globe, vol. 9-2, 2023). @article_finder
I was taken by Rick Seltzer's story about snow days in my hometown of Boston this week -- so much so that I wrote to @chronicle and they published my missive. I hope that my students agree that our class meeting times are moments to "catch our breath and let our minds play."
Segue o 🧵
