Shakira confesses to still liking Harry and then dumps Conor BEFORE Meghan walks back in, yet people blame the producers for wanting to wreck her chances? 🤷♀️ #loveislanduk
Dejon is slated for not kissing (out of respect for Meg) while Connor is slated for snogging every girl (out of disrespect to Shakira). The double standards among some of these girls is baffling #loveislanduk
Toni proving she's all mouth, no substance. What she says is not what she means. She and Harrison deserve each other. She was never "done" with him. #LoveIslandUK
Toni could do Lauren a massive favour by picking Harrison and leaving Ty free. #LoveIsland
How many times is Toni "done with this?". Move on and stop whingeing #LoveIsland
National media organisations routinely lift stories and usually to avoid paying (and what is often just a nominal amount) the original source. Perhaps this will make them think twice....
Amazing IPSO adjudication upheld against Mail Online after it defended an article on the basis that it was based on a report in the Daily Telegraph and was too late at night to check. pressgazette.co.uk/the-wire/newsp…
"I’ll always wonder if we could have or should have done more. "If we, perhaps, are about to lose our most important case of all."
In all the noise about jury trials today - know this: If you drive a car / go to work / socialise / use a mobile phone / go to the pub / date / interact in any way with other humans then you could be wrongly accused of a crime at any moment. And you’d want one thing: A jury.
On the day potential reforms of jury trials have been announced to fight the backlog, the system relied upon by the courts to log case details - known as Common Platform - is malfunctioning nationwide. Maybe someone should get the basics right before announcing radical plans.
Covering a baby murder trial when your 1st grandchild is due within days has proved quite tough this week, and I'm not embarrassed to say I shed a tear during the playing of the nan's 999 call. It doesn't matter how many cases you've written about - sometimes it just hurts.
Journalism matters @bphillipsonMP - how can you justify this in an era of fake news, social media speculation and basic untruths?
We have issued a joint statement with @TheAJEUK, @BJTC_UK, MeCCSA, and the @PPA_Live, calling on the government to reverse planned cuts to journalism course funding in higher education. Join our campaign to save quality journalism education. Read more: nctj.com/news/nctj-laun…
When a sentencing hearing is twice adjourned and you're faced having to write the story from two varying prosecution accounts contained in two different notebooks, and with more details provided by the judge.....😱
Sad news, indeed. In my training days back in the late 1980s it was the publication many of my fellow students aspired to work on, and did. pressgazette.co.uk/publishers/reg…
A 6-week trial due to start on Monday at Maidstone Crown Court, with a def facing multiple and historic child sex offences, has today been pulled from the list over issues with the building's ability to deal with D's mobility problems. No other venue available, no new trial date.
Counsel in a trial at Canterbury Crown Court has just had the unpleasant surprise of a creep-crawly landing in her water, possibly from the wooden rafters above. Still, better than what once dripped onto counsel row in court 7 at Maidstone CC from the robing room urinals above.😱
Just to add context, it was a lighthearted remark and not a serious question 🤭
A new announcement at Maidstone Crown Court this morning: Usher: "All rise, if able." Judge: "Who's Abel?"

Hi @HMCTSgovuk Can you please tell me how I can claim back all those wasted minutes spent queuing to access your court buildings? Thanks.
