My law review article on AI and First Amendment principles is now out in the latest issue of Liberty University Law Review and available online: digitalcommons.liberty.edu/lu_law_review/…
Was hoping to do neat thematic summary thread but the AI Action Plan is just so wide in scope that its hard to contain neatly all! As I mull the policy here are a few thoughts about the provisions
Today the @WhiteHouse released America’s AI Action Plan to win the global race. We need to OUT-INNOVATE our competitors, BUILD AI & energy infrastructure, & EXPORT American AI around the world. Visit AI.gov
I have a new piece in @WSJ, written along with @PeterBoettke. wsj.com/opinion/algori…
The originals are acceptable as they are now all Taylor's Version since she re-bought her masters Although some of the rankings are in fact questionable
Looks like Jen now needs to read One Piece: the Taylor Swift album tier list is out. This is an objective list so if you don't like it, that says more about you. Note: ignore the images, I ranked the original versions and no deluxe (she can't go back and change things)
Age verification is going great, everyone. Glad we're normalizing uploading your ID and face scans everywhere. Customers and users don't know to check the age verifier. When you normalize the upload, you normalize breaches and hacks.
TLDR the Tea app stores everyone's photo and ID enuncrypted in a public firebase storage bucket. Hahahahahah. Was this vibe coded?
The real question is whether consumers value AI overviews in their search results. My personal experience (and the studies cited in the piece) suggests the answer is a clear yes. Perhaps the problem is not Google or AI, but traditional media's aging business model...

On @CBSMornings with @tar___ruh - Olympian, long jump star, and now co-owner of @Athlos. How it started? When she reminded me *very kindly* that it’s track AND field for a reason. Get ready to see a competition that puts the full breadth of the sport on center stage. 🏟️
For the second summer in a row, the #CatoTechnology intern is one of the @CatoInstitute debaters in the Libertarianism v. Conservatism debate. Don't miss this annual summer fun event either in person or online cato.org/events/liberta… #CatoEvents

New on Digital Spirits. Cybersecurity drives massive annual losses to global GDP. Thankfully, mitigating this crisis is a labor problem - we have several 'big rock' solutions, they just need to be implemented. AI could be the key. digitalspirits.substack.com/p/ais-trillion…
I am no trade expert, but I can't imagine a 50% tariff on copper is going to help with this ongoing problem. Some might even argue it will make it worse. @JJensen2020 can you confirm?
NCTA’s Alex Minard sat down with @FSFthinktank’s @MPORielly to discuss the alarming rise in broadband theft and vandalism. Hear why criminals are targeting copper—and the costly consequences for broadband networks. ⬇️ Watch the full episode here: bit.ly/4lu16lb
On June 27th, the Supreme Court ruled in Free Speech Coalition v. Paxton that Texas’s age-verification law did not violate the First Amendment’s Free Speech Clause. Ashken Kazaryan, @ClareMorellEPPC, Bailey Sanchez, and @jrhuddles discussed questions surrounding this case and…

US Citizen detained by ICE: Clearly it didn't matter that I was a citizen, or a veteran, or that I identified who I was. They ignored everything I said, and they just they broke my window and they dragged me out. I let them know that I was a veteran and I wasn't doing anything…
