🚨NEW VIDEO ALERT🚨 I break down the greatest Ric Flair in-ring performance ever: his 1986 cage match against Ricky Morton for the NWA World Title. youtu.be/vA9kIlSFwJk
Tully was so fucking good, man, my god.
Formulating a theory of "You should see the other guy" style heel wrestling. Sure, Ricky Steamboat or Ricky Morton or whoever lost their title matches to the Horsemen...but you should see the other guy.
Was discussing this with some friends, but I think Steamboat won the title at exactly the right time given how he worked and developed over the years. If he stuck around in the NWA through the late 80s, you could make the argument for him, but 89 felt exactly right for that win.
Watching Flair/Steamboat matches like "How the fuck did Flair ever beat this guy, he's got NOTHING" and then he just grabs the tights and slips away, that motherfucker.
This is an excellent breakdown of the psychology involved in the lead up to the match & the match itself. Really really well thought out analysis on a level not many can pick up on and more importantly break down and articulate in a way others can then digest 12/10 recommend

Objectively hilarious statement with regards to my Morton/Flair video. Definitely the liberals who have been in charge of American pro wrestling for the vast majority of its existence.

Gonna be so funny when AEW doesn't do an in memoriam for him on the next broadcast too.
Long time friend? No. Co-worker? Yes.
