#FantasticFour : First Steps is a step in a right course correction for Marvel Studios, but we’re not there yet. Mike Giacchino’s score and retro-futuristic visuals can’t really complement the safe and familiar story. Make it more like a live-action ‘Incredibles’ and I’m sold.

#Elio has made the list of one of my favorite Pixar movies. Taking a Carl Sagan soundbite and crafting a story about belonging is a feat; all set against the most beautiful animation your eyes will see + Rob Simonsen’s score + newcomer Yonas Kibreab’s performance. It’s all aces.

Minus a repetitive 3rd act, Disney’s live-action #LiloAndStitch made me smile/laugh/cry like I did as a kid 20+ years ago. No controversy in Sydney Agudong & Maia Kealoha as they really embody Nani and Lilo. Go on the Hawaiian roller coaster ride again. You won’t be disappointed.

Contrary to what some have said, I don’t think that #Thunderbolts is a full return-to-form for Marvel Studios so much as it has elements of it, among them a great ensemble cast with great chemistry, funny script, head & heart, and some big teases(*). I’m happy it exists.

Was one of the lucky media to screen all 12 episodes of #Andor S2. Just want to echo the sentiment of most. It’s the most operatic Star War since George Lucas touched it. Watching the season finale and then Rogue One was pretty cathartic. Lastly, all hail Mon Mothma.

It’s true: Disney’s #SnowWhite live-action remake is pretty darn good, supported by a fun contemporary script, Rachel Zegler’s kindness, stunning VFX, & pop-musical songs by Pasek & Paul. Disney isn’t afraid of having fun and making fun of itself w/ it, which makes it all work

It has some pacing issues, but #MufasaTheLionKing has a great third act that really sets up the legacy that is The Lion King animated film. It’s crazy what epic believability we can get with CGI now with this movie as a shining example. Mads Mikkelsen sings. Congrats Team Disney!

Saw first 3 eps and LOVED #SkeletonCrew. It’s nostalgic Star Wars mixed with the coming-of-age mystery/adventure we saw with The Goonies. Jon Watts and the “crew” should be proud for making me love Star Wars again. Can we also s/o to Doug Chiang for making STAR WARS SUBURBIA?!

I think we need to take the wins of #Moana2 over the losses. Songs aren’t as catchy and the story definitely feels like TV show pacing, but the gags and humor get us across the finish line. I am ready for an original Disney Animation feature though. It’s time.
