New preprint analyzing 1.8 million neurons of CNNs with emergent behavioral and neuronal signatures of covert attention without incorporating any explicit attention mechanism. With @sudh8887 @WilliamWangNLP biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
2/n The CNNs, without any built-in explicit attention mechanism or cue/context priors predict human behavior for three classic attention tasks: Posner cueing, search, and contextual cueing. The cue/context effects are comparable to those of a Bayesian Ideal Observer (BIO).

The first study of my dissertation work was finally accepted for publication in Journal of Educational Computing Research! Check it out here: researchgate.net/publication/37…
NEW preprint on Koopman learning with episodic memory! This is something I've been tremendously excited about and I feel lucky to have gotten a chance to grow the idea with @IgorMezic, Maria Fonoberova, Dean Huang, and the whole @aimdyn team!!
Koopman framework now has memory 😀 Great work @wredman4 !! arxiv.org/abs/2311.12615 #Koopmanoperator #AI #ML #dynamicalsystems
Moment-to-moment information on both complex posture and ball location, using @DeepLabCut. @Brain_Products mobile EEG system neural tracking neural consequence of (rare!) moments @BarryGiesbrecht missed a shot. @jordangarrett__ @BrainOnExercise

One of my dissertation studies is now on Environmental Health! We found evidence of adverse impacts from prenatal organophosphate ester exposures on neurobehavioral outcomes at 36-months of age among the @madrescenter cohort. link.springer.com/article/10.118…
🧵(1/8) Introducing TREV! A noninvasive way to measure cardiac contractility, an index of sympathetic drive. Easy to set up (stick four electrodes on participant's wrist). Great signal-to-noise (fMRI friendly). onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/ps…
Great presentation by Dr. Ixel Hernandez-Castro @ixelhern at #ISES2023 on prenatal exposures to OPEs and infant motor development @ISExposureSci @uscpphs @USCEnviroHealth
Made it to Montreal for #OHBM23! Excited to share recent menstrual cycle + brain structure work 🧠 If you're into women's health and diffusion imaging, drop by poster 1007 Sun + Mon sessions! @OHBM @OHBM_Trainees

Had such a great time presenting at #VSS2023. Big shoutout to @DanThaye @M_ostlyHarmless and @amelia_haruka from the awesome @SpragueLabUCSB!!! I was non-stop sweating and only running on three hours of sleep but it all went well✌️
Had a great time presenting a collaboration study between myself, @DanThaye, @M_ostlyHarmless and @BarryGiesbrecht at #VSS2023. Thank you to everyone who came to the poster and gave such great feedback! Here’s the poster incase you didn’t have a chance to see it! @VSSMtg

thank you to everyone who came by my poster here at @VSSMtg !!
Had a great time presenting my first poster at @VSSMtg #VSS2023! Learn more here: linktr.ee/AttentionLab_V… @BrainOnExercise @BarryGiesbrecht @mac_emily_m

Congratulations to DR. (!) Alyssa Lawson (@alyssaplawson) for earning her PhD!🥳
Brief🧵on our paper published this week. To achieve goals in a physical world, we often have to "choose" and then "do". E.g., Pick a team-mate (choose), pass them the ball (do). Or select a golf club (choose), swing it accurately (do). (1/14) nature.com/articles/s4159….
Very happy to announce a new paper (led by @neurognome) out today in @NatureComms on how mice use visual inputs to orient themselves in their spatial environment: nature.com/articles/s4146… 🧵:
