Big Ten boss Tony Petitti isn't selling Kool-Aid. His hard-line stance on the CFP is causing waves. I went one-on-one with Petitti here: bit.ly/3IGTFbW

Tony Petitti says the Big Ten and SEC have control over future CFP formats (others disagree). Said of the Big Ten + SEC: "Every time we've come together, good things have happened. Not just for the two conferences, but for college athletics.
Tony Petitti said he's not aware that the public overwhelmingly opposes more automatic CFP bids. Said he's not aware of studies. Ok... let's see here... do you oppose a system that would give the Big Ten and SEC four automatic CFP bids each?
Big Ten boss Tony Petitti said, "It's not a must..." that the SEC goes to nine conference games. However, he does care how many conference games SEC plays if there are more at-large berths in the CFP format.
Commissioner Tony Petitti said the Big Ten is open to exploring all proposals for the College Football Playoff formats, but formats that "increase the discretion of the playoff selection committee" will have a difficult time getting support from the Big Ten.
Big questions for the Big Ten... I have a sit-down scheduled with Commissioner Tony Petitti later today. Meanwhile, the Big Ten football media event is kicking off in Las Vegas: bit.ly/4m60nGL
