Protectionist Trade Policy Logic 1. Buying foreign goods harms the domestic economy by sending money abroad and reducing demand for locally made products. Conclusion: We should avoid foreign goods and buy only domestically produced items. 2. But wait! Many domestic products…
Doesn’t George Lukas have a patent on that?

Thanks @joeljmiller for making me aware of the story of Dan Pelzer “When Dan Pelzer passed away earlier this month in Columbus, Ohio, the 92-year-old left behind a treasure: a 109-page log listing thousands of books he’d read since.” Lifetime Reader open.substack.com/pub/millersboo…

My dear friends, do not seek answers about death from the New York Times or any other major newspaper
Great to visit @ReadingsBooks in Carlton today. Always excellent. Very strong Penguin game on this visit 🐧
Wild that this is even a debate. Costco is a cathedral of abundance. Walking in and finding *anything* you need—in bulk, at low prices—is science fiction in many countries. It's a modern miracle. We shouldn't take it for granted.

Productive afternoon of meetings at the State Department. @StateDept
Folks, it's impossible to be out of God's presence. God is omnipresent and fills all things. Therefore, "hell" is not being where God isn't. It is being where God is and hating it. There is no such place as "where God is not."

I am stunned. I can’t believe that my former next-door neighbor and good friend has passed suddenly. When he and Sharon and the kids lived next-door to me for a couple of years, we weren’t rock stars comparing careers – we were just friends and neighbors getting along just fine.…
There’s something deeply unsettling about a president directing foreign countries where to invest in the U.S. economy in exchange for tariff relief. It feels like economic extortion dressed up as industrial planning. Markets—not the president—should allocate capital.
Secretary @HowardLutnick breaks down how Japan lowered their tariff rate on cars by investing $500B into American projects: "The Japanese have bought the ability to be down to 15%, and then @POTUS can invest in the projects he thinks are the most important for America."
How do satirists keep their jobs?
I cannot believe this is a real headline.
I’m dying.
Always have St. George on your wall in case Hillary comes over.
Yeah, this is what will make America great again—a vindictive grudge holder seeking vengeance on all his supposed enemies. And bragging about it. Super.
They came after the wrong man.
