The Premier League dominates football headlines. But across the country, lower division clubs play a key role in their local communities as well as developing talent. While chasing the higher-level leagues can be costly, some clubs are establishing enterprising initiatives.👇…
It does depend on the context. At the seaside it's obviously fish and chips. Most of the rest of the time it's pizza.
No one sane is choosing fish and chips over pizza
Incredible to find that there are people who really think that literally *all* historians in a country should really know loads about a king from all of 1100 years ago. History as a field is even more mad than economics, it seems.
So you don't expect PhD students to specialise in particular parts of the field in order to generate novel and news insights, and instead be really general then?
History going through it's equivalent of the insane debate in economics about whether everyone should have read Adam Smith or not, it would seem. All because GB News felt the need to ridicule a poor black kid.
The problem this post reveals isn’t necessarily the history degree (they can only teach a certain number of modules in 3 years) but just the complete lack of historical curiosity of those studying it.
Haha such a party of the common man. This lot aren't about to challenge Reform...
We must abolish inheritance tax.
For the avoidance of doubt: since Abdallah did not save the club, nor get it promoted, no, I don't think he was well within his rights to do what he did with the community asset that is Oldham Athletic Football Club. To compare a kit release to what Abdallah did is risible.
So, for the avoidance of doubt, you believe Abdallah was well within his rights to destroy the reputation of #OAFC doing whatever he wanted because he owned it? Fans who have been watching for decades can't show displeasure about a product they want to buy to help the owners?

I wrote this based on Oldham Athletic's dramatic promotion back to the Football League just a few weeks ago now. Happy @EFL fixture release day all! #oafc #sufc @OfficialOAFC @southend
52,000+ fans saw Oldham (@OfficialOAFC) beat Southend at Wembley. A record day for non-league football – but is the pyramid working? buff.ly/9qnK5yr | NEW on the Economics Observatory By @jjreade
Premier League clubs congratulate themselves on *only* losing £105m over three years. Let's not pretend football clubs are profitable, cash ready businesses. Oh, wait, there isn't another agenda at work here is there? 🤔🤔🤔
Lewes FC were the first side to announce equal pay for their men’s and women’s teams but are now desperately short of cash Find out more from @ben_rumsby ⬇️ telegraph.co.uk/football/2025/…
Wow. What an amazing video. #oafc
🤯 POV: You're in the mayhem at Wembley to watch Latics return to the EFL. #oafc
It’s looking pretty beautiful tonight.
It was an honour to beat a team that was in the premier league 789 years ago. At least you still have a beautiful town!!
There’s such a fighting spirit to Oldham Athletic. So close to going out of existence in 21/22. But great fans and good people like Frank Rothwell and Darren Royle refused to let their club die. They fought and survived. They were so close to losing the National League play-off…
