Never mind the water companies. This is the real scandal.
The Abu Dhabi-owned private provider of special schools and children’s homes boosted profits by nearly 30 per cent last year to over £44 million amid “strong demand” for places, financial records show buff.ly/FABUkYU

Middle child has just finished her gap year. 6 months in Germany followed by a term and a half as a TA in lovely local primary school. Safe to say she made an impression and I’m a very proud dad.

Oh. Happy. Day. ❤️🤍💙💚
It's Match Day in Brisbane! 👊🦁 #Lions2025
We have entered the realms of arsonists blaming the fire fighters. Entirely predictable.

Having been a #NCFC supporter for nearly 50 years, it’s hard not to feel hopeful listening to this. However, as a #NCFC supporter of 50 years, I know it’s the hope that kills… bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p0…
Our teachers and headteachers are at the heart of everything we do. It’s encouraging to hear about the progress we’ve made together in the last year, and I’m determined to keep working with them to deliver the changes our schools need.
What a ridiculous waste of time, energy and money. Parents heading for court to make smartphones in schools illegal. thetimes.com/article/b5afb6…

That’s a relief. For a while I thought we would get an entirely new inspection framework (sometime) in September with a launch date of November with no support…
Ofsted will aim to reassure schools worried about its new inspections by hosting a series of webinars from September tes.com/magazine/news/…
I’m really encouraged by some of the RISE initiatives, particularly the focus on Early Years. So much better than the ‘big stick’ approach we’ve seen over the last few years. As ever, the proof of the pudding will be in the delivery.
Primary schools will get one of three levels of 'support' from government school improvement squads aimed at boosting reception teaching, with English and maths hubs expected to do much of the heavy lifting schoolsweek.co.uk/best-start-in-…
This is potentially game changing for families. The support they need, used to have, and have missed ….. finally some extra support to alleviate the gaps that schools have been stretched too thin trying to fill. bbc.com/news/articles/…
Of all the mistakes made during austerity (and there were legion), closing Sure Start centres must have been the worst. For every £1 spent, the country benefited by £2 says the IFS. Glad that this goes some way to undo the damage.
This was one of the first Sure Start centres — one I was very proud to be involved in before entering politics. Now, we’re making sure all families will have access to this kind of support – rolling out Best Start Family Hubs through our Plan for Change.
‘At its peak in 2009-10 Sure Start had 3,600 centres in England but by 2018 local authorities had scaled back or closed most of them’. The IFS found for every £1 spent, the benefit was £2. Parenting seems too hard — children need a better start. thetimes.com/article/0c3be8…

So, according to @WestminsterWAG Sarah Vine, Kemi Badenoch (having seen Rachel Reeves crying) was perfectly entitled to ‘go in for the kill’ but Keir Starmer (who didn’t see RR crying) showed cowardice for not backing her. Great logic.
Change of scenery for the early morning 10k. #Thames #EducationFest
