Writing is obviously a tool for communication. But it is so much more than that. It is a means of expanding limited working memory and a tool for thinking. AI can write really well - but if you want to develop your own thinking you need to be able to write yourself!…
1 thing learned from @daisychristo & @nmmarking - finding the quickest route to achieving an outcome, creates space in mental load to focus on doing something else better. Eg. Understanding writing development = knowing what, when & how to teach, practice, retrieve, & assess it.

Doing this quiz with my class showed me that we need *far* more lessons on run-on sentences when I take them into Year 5. It's well worth doing this quiz with any KS2 class, I think.
The Writing Framework is a really useful read. Lots to reflect on. Going to give my Year 4s this quiz from @daisychristo tomorrow and really, really hope that our 'endless' work on run-ons has paid off...
