Wanted to share that I've joined the design team at @OpenAI — I'm stoked to explore a brand new space and looking forward to what's ahead!
Some news — this was my last week on the Human Interface team at Apple! It was a real pleasure working with the team over the last five years, to see the Apple Vision Pro headset come to life from start to finish. I'm grateful to have been a part of it.
Stoked to share Spatial Gallery, the first new app for Vision Pro from Apple. Discover spatial videos, photos, & short stories from around the world. Was a pleasure to build this with a remarkable team, to lean into spatial software & a truly immersive experience. Try it out!
I’m speechless—Spatial Gallery has the most beautiful user interface I’ve ever experienced in an Apple product. It's also the first time Apple has introduced depth to panels in visionOS, giving them a 3D-like appearance—something I’ve never seen before. Expanding the content you…
Thought it might be fun to share more about the process of designing a vehicle from scratch. Coming from the software world, this is has been a totally new experience for me. (This thread will be mostly about form; will share more about engineering/manufacturing soon.)
I’ve made a little AI copilot for Origami Studio. Think of it as a tiny code editor that sits on top of Origami's canvas and lets you generate patches using GPT-4 – all within the same surface. It’s a native macOS app and you can get it here: kami.alexwidua.com
The era of spatial computing has arrived! Apple Vision Pro is available in the US on February 2.

Prototyped a subtle Zoom Blur and Motion Blur SwiftUI shader this weekend. It's a little detail that changes the feel of the dragged element entirely (and is fun to play around with)

Lock Screen Album Art transition experiment Left - iOS today Right - a prototype I made with SwiftUI The improvement is the album cover doesn’t appear out of nowhere (i.e. spatially easier to follow). Aside - I personally like bounciness(aka Disney), but it's not for…
SwiftUI is a design tool from the future. For #WWDC23, @dillwanner and I gave a talk on how we’ve been using it to design Apple Maps, and how you can do the same! Full video: developer.apple.com/videos/play/ww…
