#DYSLEXIA Advocate For Students & Parents. I taught my fifth grader how to read when the school failed to.
In college I spent the weekend at a friend’s pig farm. Hot summer days and nights. No A/C. My friend casually told me “oh you’ll get used to the smell”. 30 years later I haven’t forgotten.
I think that 80% of people who dream of living on a farm wouldn't actually want to live on a farm (that's serious work) but they like the imagery.
Honesty ⬇️

If 90% of the behavior issues come from 10% of the classes. Instead of making all teachers/kids spend precious time on an SEL program, how about making sure those teachers have the support they need so every classroom is well-run. Everybody knows "room 15" is wild. Address it
Fox Teacher Prep
I blame it on the fact that many teachers were also taught this way. In college many of my classmates didn’t understand the textbooks because they didn’t have any morphology skills. They went to elementary with whole language not phonics. I was a decade older than them.

Nearly 90% of students with LD struggle to focus, and too many lack the skills to advocate for themselves. It’s time we teach self-advocacy to every kid with dyslexia, and train all teachers to recognize and support them as well. Every classroom. Every educator. Every student.…
This is what 2 jr high boys with reading difficulties are doing in my neighborhood this summer and they’re crushing it. $$$ Little entrepreneurs.
