Weirdly, reading a history of Catholic popes is helping me realize that, Oh, what is happening now is happening ALL THE TIME.
I do think this is a situation where reading history is useful. E.g., to remind yourself that "the world is about to end" is a almost constant feeling people have. (Climate change is a more dire threat that most past concerns, but that won't end the world in our lifetime.)
Yo this right here.
I have no problem with the Epstein files being released because I do not have an undying loyalty to any politicians. If someone from my side is exposed, I would prefer that they face consequences. If you feel differently, I think you should consider leaving your cult.
2025, everyone.
Didn’t he literally just spell it with two Rs?
Ah, now the conservatives are like "Oh who cares about parades"
The Atlantic has really outdone itself this time. A “scholar” from the neocon lobby, AEI, here to scold us about relaxing and enjoying the flag parades. What a shameless joke the ruling classes inhabit.
Oh, why not: a strange southern campus novel in which the main character, a freshly minted PhD with a tenure track job, finds strange things happening on his campus, including bizarre accidents befalling upper administrators #questPit #Q #S
for writers, the question is not "How many licks to the center of a Tootsie pop" but "How many god damn clicks does it take to log in to Submittable"
Can't say why, precisely, but the march into the AWP convention feels like a scene from The Walking Dead, but instead of brains everyone is shambling for an acceptance from The Paris Review.
They did an excellent job with my debut novel through their YA imprint.

Does JD Vance consider futons to be bisexual, gender-queer, or furries?
And the funny thing is that like at least half of the going low is just calling conservatives weird and watching them prove the point.
My only contribution to the discourse of the day is that they most useful graduate course I ever took 'only' required me to read 2 short stories per class session, three sessions per week.
600 pages of reading per week (especially if most of those pages are from novels) is totally reasonable for full-time college students. That’s less than 100 pages per day. If a college student can’t read 100 pages per day without cheating they should not be in college.
Writer friends (and acquaintances), I have dropped the ball on an important writer task and wonder if anyone might be willing to read a handful of stories from my next book to whip up a quick blurb to go out with early ARCS? Happy to give a copy and future blurb in return!
