I am absolutely delighted today to be joining @ParkinsonsUKSco as Scotland Director. Parkinson’s is the fastest growing neurological condition in the world. I’ll be working alongside people with Parkinson’s, their families and friends and all those who support our charity.

I’ve seen this in action and it’s another brilliant example of all that keeping physically active can offer some people with #parkinsons @ParkinsonsUK @ParkinsonsUKSco @MandoMckay 'Parkinson's cycling club has given me back my independence' bbc.com/news/articles/…

Very proud of the work my boss is doing, after listening to @ParkinsonsUK campaigners and constituents living with fluctuating conditions. Nobody feels like the current welfare system is fair, equitable or compassionate. Reform is critical - and must reflect people’s real lives.
I appreciated the opportunity to talk to @PGourtsoyannis for tonight’s @STVNews about my amendment to the welfare bill. My amendment seeks to ensure that people with Parkinson’s and other fluctuating severe conditions can get the higher health rate for Universal Credit.
Congratulations to Professor Miratul Muqit who will lead the new Parkinson's Research Centre. The centre has been set up through our partnership with the UK Dementia Research Institute. You can find out more about Prof Muqit's appointment here ➡️ prksn.uk/3Geu0pY
The Universal Credit health element cuts remain part of the bill and will impact people in Scotland and the rest of the UK. We urge the UK government to reconsider.
“Today, the government was forced to concede major changes to the dangerous and flawed Welfare Bill, thanks to campaigning by disabled people, organisations and charities across the UK, as well as MPs who listened.” Read our response to the #WelfareReformBill ⬇️ @mssocietyuk
Just had to share this image, which so aptly illustrates the positive vibe at the weekends Look North @ParkinsonsUK research event held @RobertGordonUni
Brilliant to be with so many from the @ParkinsonsUKSco research network in Aberdeen today. Driven by people with #Parkinsons from the region

Looking forward to the @ParkinsonsUKSco @NoSPRIG Research event today in #aberdeen @RobertGordonUni over 100 people from our community expected and more on line! @julie_physio @bowles_lab amongst the excellent speakers

We have submitted our response to the UK Government's consultation on welfare reforms and we also briefed Scottish MPs on our opposition to measures in the UC and PIP Bill. Read our response and briefing in the 'Work and Finances' section of our website: samh.org.uk/about-us/we-sh…
We echo our Disability Benefits Consortium partners - MPs must vote down the bill for future Parkinson’s generations. The Govt concessions make no sense long-term. People with the same limitations will get different rates based on when they applied, creating a two-tier system.
"By pushing the cuts onto future claimants, the government are betraying the next generation of disabled people. We urge MPs to use their power to stop this impending disaster." Read our response to the #WelfareReformBill ⬇️ @ParkinsonsUK #DisabilityBenefits
