"But I beseech You of Your kindness to have mercy on me—not the lesser mercy which You show temporarily for physical distress, but Your greater mercy which You show for the distress of the soul. Have mercy on me, and forgive me my sin. Amen."

It is, admittedly, a complicated story. This guy does a decent job of explaining things imo: logos.com/grow/anglican-…
"Anglicanism has a great future if we stop putting polity, party, and pride ahead of the Gospel and our inheritance of faith in the form of the Articles, Liturgy, and Homilies of the Church." ~Peter Robinson northamanglican.com/an-underlying-…
"The equation of Anglicanism with the Anglican Communion is a fairly recent phenomenon. Did Anglicanism not exist prior to the first Lambeth Conference in 1867?" There is no good reason to define Anglicanism in purely ecclesial terms. @FrErlandson
Yes, because the real “Anglican” church in the USA is the Episcopal Church.
Happy St. James Day! GRANT, O merciful God, that, as thy holy apostle Saint James, leaving his father and all that he had, without delay was obedient unto the calling of thy Son Jesus Christ and followed him, so we, forsaking all worldly and carnal affections, may be evermore…
I'm sorry this is news to some people, but Roman Catholics are in fact our brothers in Christ: "Given that the Reformers themselves recognized the fundamentals of Word and Sacrament as still present in the Roman Church, we should do the same." northamanglican.com/anglicanism-an…
We see it as a step in the wrong direction. Exchanging Reformed confession for Anglican. We saw it coming. He regularly hosted papists on his podcast speaking to them as if they were brothers in Christ. Sad situation
"I cannot stay in a denomination where the Nicene Creed has been officially rejected from inclusion." This is not a lowering of Scripture, for the creeds are revered precisely because "they may be proved by most certain warrants of Holy Scripture." northamanglican.com/concerning-the…

War isn’t always immoral. Murdering people for a perceived greater good is. Therefore, it is better that a million men die in a just war than 10,000 die for a false peace.
This is a strange poll, thanks for humoring. If you could press a button, and it killed 10,000 people now violently, but resulted in the abolition of war forever, potentially saving an infinite number of lives, would you press it?
Amazing number of people acting like Matthew Barrett just apostatized.
Baptists already have at least two prominent contemporary systematic theologies (Grudem and Erickson), how about letting the Protestant Anglicans maybe have a crumb or two?
"This Article upholds the logic of Article XX—in which the normative principle of worship is affirmed—and extends it." As you can see, @AmReformer has really been browbeating @NorthAmAnglican into sacrificing its theological distinctives. northamanglican.com/rome-and-litur…
"As with liturgical vernacular and celebrating the Eucharist in both kinds, the Church of Rome has in recent years shifted its tone considerably with regard to local liturgies." northamanglican.com/rome-and-litur…
Latest book review. It’s a nice quick read (the book, that is). Recommended!
"The book is framed as a case study on five sermons from the Bible itself. Through these case studies, Clemente points out an aspect of effective preaching for which the hearer of a sermon can be on the lookout." ~@Fr_Isaac_R northamanglican.com/review-hear-re…

Sin, even original sin, is not of the nature of man. It is an accident of our nature. One that even many nonbelievers will fight against in their own half hearted way. Our civil laws can help people suppress their unrighteousness and embrace their essential nature.

Defenses of retributive justice seem pretty thin on the ground these days, but there's a recent Ph.D dissertation on retributive justice in the Bible (completed at SBTS) available for free download here: repository.sbts.edu/handle/10392/4…
