By doing things the same way they were done in the past - not forcing online for single player games, not having abusive DRM, etc.
This was kind of the golden era. I feel like Triple A gaming peaked around 2015. This decade has been a complete disappointment. On the bright side, indie and small studio games have gotten better and we have had some gems there.
