This should be a no brainer pickup for any team in my opinion
Erick Fedde to be designated for assignment by the Cardinals.
Among the group of flamethrowers in the mets system Aracena was the one I thought could actually be a MLB starter I wrote my full thoughts on him here
Let's breakdown Wellington Aracena: a potential fast rising flamethrower and newest Baltimore Oriole🧵
Well folks this is why you don’t procrastinate I just finished writing up Aracena as the Mets 14th best pitching prospect, I’ll post that shortly Soto will be fine as a lefty option his stuff will get outs but his control will get him into trouble
For Wellington Arecena and Cameron Foster
Tilly tops out at 97 with a really unique splitter and mixes in a sweeper Good whiff rates all around and he has the makings of a starters arsenal
With their 7th round pick, the New York Mets select RHP Cam Tilly from Auburn.
Met's pick Peyton Prescott (FSU) up to 100.1 Needs TJ but with be a fun (likely reliever) dev project Lower Release short arm action, has a hard slider with an inconsistent shape and depthy splitter

.
What stands out to me with Voit is the low whiff rates on FB's, pitchers counts, and overall He has plus arm strength and speed but average fielding overall, I wonder if his future is at 3B or corner OF (I highly doubt he'll pitch in pro ball, his stuff is not very good)

With the 38th overall pick in the #MLBDraft25, we have selected two-way player Mitch Voit from Michigan.

Jimenez crushes fastballs (.416 AVG / .708 SLG) with just a 13% whiff rate, no issues with velo or ride Struggles more vs. righty breakers (.203 AVG / .391 SLG) and will chase changeups Historically stronger vs. LHP EV's and hard hit rates are above average

In the 3rd round of the #MLBDraft25, we have selected shortstop Antonio Jimenez from Central Florida.
Brandon Sproat has made some exciting changes in Triple-A, resulting in 18 straight scoreless innings since his 6/28 start. 🧵 It’s all about complementary pitches & attacking lefties:
Third straight scoreless start for Mets prospect Brandon Sproat in Triple-A: 7 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 4 K, 87 pitches/62 strikes, 8 ground ball outs
Here’s how Carrillo has looked in AAA: That changeup is new, and nasty. At 90 mph with that kind of movement, it could be a legit weapon The slider also looks more refined, now more of a true hard gyro shape With this kind of stuff, he’s a potential high-leverage arm
The Mets have reportedly signed RHP Alex Carrillo He topped out at 101 in the Independent Frontier League, he has a low release and a hard slider Here are numbers on him courtesy of @tony_baseball_, the Mets may try getting him to throw a true FF instead of that sinker

We have a signing....@mets have signed RHP Alex Carrillo to a minor league deal. Carrillo most recently pitched in the Rangers system (2019) and must have impressed @mets with his work out of the bullpen in the VEWL (13 innings 6 hits 9 walks 17 k's) #Mets
