“Ecosystem integrity underpins rice production. Nature isn’t a backdrop to farming; it’s the foundation,” IRRI’s Ben Kemp said at the SIRS Seminar. He emphasized that disrupting landscapes entails significant trade-offs for rice, communities, and ecosystems.
