to lie to steve and say i slept with someone to spite him, or not to lie.
he picks up the note, reads it once, twice, then again. he's initially annoyed at how vague it is. then again he didn't exactly have a heart to heart with steve about it. he slides the letter into a drawer at his desk. he'll call. he's just stalling.
