Wout van Aert and Kaden Groves both won stages of the Giro and the Tour this year… Go for it lads. It’s only been done once since the 1950s
This was already the case when they did it three years in a row.
Tadej Pogacar and Jonas Vingegaard are the only riders in history to finish on the first two places of the Tour de France in five consecutive years.
💪 🇮🇪 Ben Healy is the #TDF2025 Super Combative! After adding up the votes of the jury and the public, it is the Irishman who is rewarded for his resolutely offensive Tour! 💪 🇮🇪 Ben Healy est le Super combatif @century21fr du #TDF2025 ! Après addition des votes du jury et…
On the Côte de Chateaufort, the final climb of the 1992 Tour on the Champs Elysees stage the peloton let the three former winners remaining in the race (apart from incumbent Indurain) go ahead and take 1st, 2nd and 3rd on the climb Laurent Fignon Stephen Roche Pedro Delgado 👌🏼
For the past 6 years I have felt compelled to watch first the GCN+ and now the TNT coverage of the Tour. But the ITV (and previously Channel 4) highlight hour is a thing of absolute perfection. It instilled a love for the history and beauty of cycling and I will miss it terribly.
Really quite impressive for a team to bring all three of Philipsen, Van der Poel and Groves to a Grand Tour and ALL of them win a stage.
Who has won the most uphill finishes in Tour history? I’m leading you astray with this photo… it’s not him. It’s not even nearly him. In fact, in this particular category, Merckx was shite. open.substack.com/pub/cilliankel…

In hindsight, we probably shouldn't have expected fireworks on the final mountain stage when they've smashed the Alps, Pyrenees and Mont Ventoux into 8 days of racing, which included 5 HC summit finishes and a mountain time trial. No wonder they are absolutely fucked
Vingegaard having to wear Pog's polka dot jersey is kind of degrading isn't it? Is it?
Still believe there's a massive gap in the market for non-squeaky disc brakes. Not sure why it hasn't dawned on anyone to invent them before now.
Matteo Jorgenson with the worst moustache in cycling history?
This is the article about the ‘tradition’ of the final stage processional stage that Rob Hatch kindly mentioned in commentary… if anyone is interested. open.substack.com/pub/cilliankel…
What a loser
When Pogacar wins his fifth Tour de France next year, he'll still be younger than Lance Armstrong was when he won his first in 1999
No rider has ever won three consecutive stages of the Tour de France, twice. Pog will be the first when he wins this stage.
I have conclusive proof that Ireland have the best cyclists. open.substack.com/pub/cilliankel…
Load of bollocks. Questions don’t need to come from an ‘appropriate authority’ for Ineos to answer them. Answering questions from the media is one of the promises that team made when they started. As with many other aspects, they appear to have lost their way with this.
Statement from INEOS.
