1/N I’m excited to share that our latest @OpenAI experimental reasoning LLM has achieved a longstanding grand challenge in AI: gold medal-level performance on the world’s most prestigious math competition—the International Math Olympiad (IMO).
It’s worth reflecting on just how fast AI progress has been, especially in math. In 2024, AI labs were using grade school math (GSM8K) as an eval in their model releases. Since then, we’ve saturated the (high school) MATH benchmark, then AIME, and now are at IMO gold.
I tested the new ChatGPT agent with a request to depict the Eleusinian Mysteries from beginning to end in 32 cinematic stills. I spent maybe 15 min on making the prompts (basically setting the cast) and it worked for ~6 hours to create this PDF. dropbox.com/scl/fi/yq8m5bf…

We find that the lactase persistence allele had a large positive effect on stature in ancient individuals (0.24 standard deviations), even though it shows no association with height in modern populations.

More fear mongering. Is there any documented case of a regular innocent person having suffered anything whatsoever by doing 23andMe or indeed any sort of consumer genetic test? washingtonpost.com/technology/202…
