Why do WB think 'people' want funnier movies? They have zero awareness of what people want from DC. Nolans Dark Knight trilogy has shown that this isn't the case.
There was originally a darker script that Zack & Terio had written before BvS came out. But when it did, WB wanted the JL movie to be lighter, 'it's not funny enough, people want funnier movies'. Zack goes on to explain about the time travel & nightmare scenes from the future.
