Great start to our @REWRITE_EU General Assembly. Promises to be a few days packed with challenging questions about the future of our valuable #intertidal shores. Nice to have our new @tcddublin @TCD_NatSci @TCD_Geography team members @etk89, K O'Leary, and J Clarke welcomed, too.
And we're off to the @REWRITE_EU General Assembly! As nice as it is above the clouds, let us be aware of our carbon emissions... and use that awareness to drive us to urgently develop ways to manage #coastal natural systems as an integrated whole that supports all life on 🌍.
Great team @tcddublin's #watercentre discussions yesterday and a positive session on why it is needed. The case is clear when it comes to #coastal challenges....! 🙏 @megafloods for photo and the great panel contributions alongside @PeteScientist, highlighting value of #geography

Couldn't imagine a better @tcddublin #coastal team - and to have such eminent coastal geomorphologists as Prof Colin Woodroffe and Prof Tom Spencer with us @igc2024dub last week was a great honour. Owe them a lot. Thanks @etk89 for those lovely snapshots of the occasion!
Great to see @citizenjoesmith introduce our next keynote, held jointly with the @RGS_IBG in #London and #Dublin. Reminding us of the unique position of #geography in addressing #climate and #sustainability challenges & of our celebration of difference as a strength of humanity.
"Just as we are trying to grow our hydropower, we are starting to lose our capacity to do it...". Very honoured to have been able to introduce Prof Stuart Lane's Keynote @igc2024dub, from loss of glaciers to gap between two cultures that are our social and natural sciences.
