Flying an F4U-5N Corsair named for his wife, LT Guy "Lucky Pierre" Bordelon of the VC-3 Blue Nemesis shot down an La-11 Fang on this day in 1953 to become the U.S. Navy's only ace of the Korean War. When he returned to USS Princeton, he was greeted by the ship's band. #OTD
