On the fourth morning at the world student games (GB currently have one medal) . Great to see Lucy Jane matthews, former Euro medallist, back in form with 13.26 (0.6) in the 100H heats-her fastest in five years.

@abi_pawlett wins Eu23 Heptathlon with 6320 points. A Welsh record and I think the first Welsh woman to win an individual medal. Hopefully enough to get a world rankings spot for Tokyo. Great meet for her.

In a desperate lunge for the line Justin Davies wins silver in the eu23 800m to put Wales on the medal table-- what a breakthrough for the lad in 2025- Henry jonas, only 20, who ran 1:44.10 in the heats, was a close fifth. GB somehow are yet to win this event at Eu23's
On her GB debut Mena Scatchard takes fourth in the 1500m at the Eu23's , having been too far back in ninth with 300m to go.. a known fast finisher who has lots of scope to develop
A most encouraging morning for @abi_pawlett in the Eu23 Heptathlon. A decent enough long jump of 6.21m did drop her back from pb pace but more than made up for it with 40.67m javelin- her 2nd best ever.. Right on course for podium

An excellent fifth on her gb debut for Emily parker of Poole in the 3000 steeplechase. The reigning England champ clocks a pb 9:45.64. I hope she sticks with this event in the future.
