i taught for a tech bootcamp for a few years and i had a lot of stem majors as students. They were *never* the most gifted programmers. By the end of the course a former janitor or english major would wipe the floor with them during coding challenges.
When I was getting my math degree, I knew plenty of STEM majors who took upper-level humanities classes as electives. I never met any history or comp lit majors in my upper-level math classes, though. Wonder why.
