We were established by the @iaeaorg to respond to the growing global cancer crisis. Together with @WHO & other 🌎🌍🌏 partners, we support #CancerCare4All.
In Liberia today, we marked the start of the country’s only radiotherapy facility, backed by @IAEAorg’s #RaysOfHope. Through #Atoms4Food, we are also working to boost food security, and we are helping protect Liberia’s coasts from ocean acidification.
Important moment today as we celebrated the groundbreaking of 🇱🇷 Liberia’s only radiotherapy facility with President Joseph Nyumah Boakai & Health Minister Louise Kpoto. @IAEAorg #RaysOfHope is helping establish it, starting with a mammography unit & training, with more to come.
Rwanda🇷🇼 has made progress in addressing preventable cancers nationwide, including enhancing cancer services, developing key governance documents & training professionals. However, challenges remain to delivering #CancerCare4All. More about our assessment: atoms.iaea.org/3FoGHOj
Chile’s universal health coverage and skilled workforce are assets to the country's national health system, say IAEA, @WHO and @IARCWHO experts, who recommend further investment in cancer care—including radiopharmaceutical production. 🔗 atoms.iaea.org/3IIbt6m #CancerCare4All

Congratulations Malawi🇲🇼on this milestone to increase access to #CancerCare4All! 👏 An #imPACTReview in 2012 helped to inform national cancer control planning and investment, and @iaeaorg #RaysOfHope supported the centre with key equipment.
Malawi's first public radiotherapy centre is here. This is a major milestone under @IAEAorg #RaysOfHope, which supported the centre with life-saving equipment. Honoured to join @MalawiGovt @LAZARUSCHAKWERA & @health_malawi @HonChiponda for inauguration at Kamuzu Central Hospital.
Mozambique faces a growing cancer burden, worsened by the lack of infrastructure, manpower and access to lifesaving equipment. See how the IAEA, with @WHO and @IARCWHO, help countries like Mozambique improve #CancerCare4All through #RaysOfHope: atoms.iaea.org/3FOYHl0
In high-income countries, 90% of cancer patients have access to radiotherapy; in middle-income countries it’s 60%; but in low-income countries only 10% of patients benefit from this essential cancer care. The IAEA's #RaysOfHope is here to change those obscene discrepancies. ⤵️
Three years after launching @IAEAorg’s #RaysOfHope, I was proud to join African leaders in Addis Ababa 🇪🇹 to take stock and shape the path ahead. Even as the world faces many crises, Africa’s urgent cancer care needs remain and we are delivering real progress.
At the #RaysOfHope Forum, Assistant Minister @OokeditseL spotlighted Botswana’s first public radiotherapy centre, progress on safety and training, and the country’s long-standing cooperation with @IAEAorg as 🇧🇼 expands access to cancer care.
