Happy holiday's from the hutlab. Hope everyone is getting time to recharge and relax. Here's a photo from our holiday party with our adopted plushies from the National Wildlife Federation @NWF

The newest bioBakery tool is here - check out the MaAsLin 3 preprint spearheaded by Will Nickols @hutlab! 🚀 From handling compositionality to expanding biological hypotheses, MaAsLin 3 is a major upgrade from MaAsLin 2. Dive into the paper to see how it outperforms…
We are happy to announce that the MaAslin3 manuscript is now available on @biorxivpreprint! Check it out and feel free to post feedback on our forums! biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
Congrats to lab member Kelsey Thompson who was recently promoted to Research Scientist!
🥁 New Publication Alert: Our manuscript on the ☕️ and #microbiome relationship is out in @NatureMicrobiol: nature.com/articles/s4156… 1/12
Checkout our recent pre-print looking at the ability for various metagenomic workflows and tools to examine undercharacterized environments! Lead by Will our former undergraduate now PhD student @HarvardChanSPH biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
The lab had a great time hearing about all the amazing microbiome science happening at #CSHL. Looking forward to next year!

We are very excited to announce that the HUMAnN 4.0 (alpha) is now available for use by the metagenomics research community! For specific details and release notes please check out this post on our forum: forum.biobakery.org/t/announcing-h…
Thank you @HillsPet for putting on a great symposium this year. It was great to present our upcoming work on the One Health Microbiome Resource #HGS24

New lab member Jennifer Lin is an SM-60 Biostatistics student here at HSPH. Their main interests are applying machine learning, genetics, bioinformatics, AI, and modeling, to better understand biological function. We are excited to have them on our team!

Thanks @MspcaAngell for organizing this year's Fast and Furriest event. It was a great event and look forward to next year! #FastAndFurriest

The lab had a great time last week at our annual @HillsPet trip. We got to see their awesome facilities and chat about all of the great science we have been working on together. Keep an eye out for our upcoming research findings!

The @WSJ tackled a tough dialog around cancer microbiome research that, as many in the field know, has exposed challenges in online scientific discourse. We’re all trying to improve microbiome science together! wsj.com/health/healthc…
Happy Friday everyone! To wrap up summer (We know a bit late...) here are some summer vacation photos from various lab members! Including Greece, South Africa, and Canada

Greetings from the US again!🇺🇸 PhD student @j_hikami_finck just returned from her research stay at @harvardchansph where she was hosted by the @hutlab to explore soil #microbiomes from the Amazon rainforest using #metagenomics #IMPRSabroad @ATTOresearch #rainforestmicrobiology
Exciting to see more positive results as microbiome clinical trials advance, this time from @SeresTX for improving stem cell transplant outcomes (full disclosure: SAB member) ir.serestherapeutics.com/news-releases/…
BST 273 (Intro. to Programming in Python) is back in session @harvardchansph with @efranzosa! The last time Eric was in this classroom (one of his favorites) was March 2020 - right before school went 100% online! He's happy to have another chance to enjoy it this semester!

Happy #PostdocAppreciationWeek! Shout out to our (and all) postdocs who drive research forward with passion, resilience, and innovation. Thank you for all that you do 🙏
