I’ve spent the last few days working with my team of colleagues to document the buildings and stages in the Fairbanks Building and Neptune House at BBC Elstree Centre in 360° and LiDAR. Built for ATV in 1960 and 61, these two buildings are due to be demolished later this year.

I won an RTS award tonight for editing. For a film I crowdfunded, produced, edited and directed. Unreal. I have so much gratitude and thanks for the belief, trust and friendship of Walter Murch; and the generosity of Mike Leigh and all our backers and supporters.

Not a video today, for the last day of #InternationalArchivesWeek - but instead, a photo from the end credits of @stanleykubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey being projected in 70mm at the @britishfilminstitute IMAX! Proudly made in Borehamwood!
Sir Roger Moore reflects on the production of The Saint at ABPC Elstree Studios, Borehamwood, in this short clip from our archive for #InternationalArchivesWeek #MadeAtElstree #RogerMoore #TheSaint #TelevisionHistory
Today in #InternationalArchivesWeek we have a clip with Muppeteer Dave Goelz, who recalls the time the Muppet Show crew snuck into the ATV Elstree canteen and replaced the mural with #Muppet characters. It’s become the stuff of legend - if anyone has a photo, we’d love to see it!
Here’s a fun bit of behind the scenes trivia for Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom!
We continue to celebrate our archive this #InternationalArchivesWeek, with an interview with scenic artist Ron Punter and how he demonstrated the secret passage in Temple of Doom to Steven Spielberg, at Borehamwood’s @ElstreeStudios. #MadeAtElstree #IndianaJones #TempleOfDoom
It’s #InternationalArchivesWeek, so here’s a clip from our oral history archive of Dame Barbara Windsor discussing the glamour of ATV Elstree! #FilmHistory #MadeAtElstree #Borehamwood
A joy and an honour to be asked to share my passion and knowledge of the history of Elstree Studios with Prince Edward today, and be a part of the launch of the studio’s centenary celebrations.
Elstree Studios began its 100th anniversary celebrations today with an official visit by His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh. Escorted by our Head of Studios, Rebecca Hawkes, and Chairman, Cllr Jeremy Newmark, The Duke enjoyed an extensive tour of the studio..
🎬 Yesterday we filmed Elstree Project interview #78 with Academy Award-winner John Stephenson. He reflected on The Dark Crystal, Greystoke, and Return to Oz — and how @ElstreeStudios was the birthplace of modern British VFX and animatronics. #ElstreeStudios #Elstree100 #VFX
Liz Truss thinks we should put the retirement age up to 80. Repost if she should work in a lettuce farm until she is 80.
Make it happen for Jamie and donate to his crowdfunder!
Some behind the scenes shots of our time with Joe Alves in 2022/23. For the final sequence we want to shoot Joe on Martha's Vineyard for the 50th Anniversary of Jaws! It takes film fans like us to make these projects, but we can't do it without your help! gofund.me/280e8ce5
We rather reluctantly ask for public help like this, but we’ve now got so much material to go through it is for the benefit of getting the job done well which is paramount. So we’ve set up a Go Fund Me — link in the replies. Any assistance hugely appreciated.
I will be on Channel 4 News later tonight to talk about Trump’s proposed tariff on the film industry.
