City Council was set to vote on how to spend $314M in federal money from HUD following last years derecho storm and Hurricane Beryl. The key stumbling block is $50 million allocated for damaged homes. A City of Houston report says $229M is needed in home repair across the city.

The Astros won 4-3 this afternoon to complete a three-game sweep of the Arizona Diamondbacks at Chase Field. Houston heads back home tonight and begins a four-game series with the Athletics at Daikin Park on Thursday night.
Southwest Airlines says they will begin assigned seating on January 27, 2026, ending their open-seating policy after decades of service. The airlines says the move will give customers “greater control over their travel experience,” like choosing seats with more legroom.
The Wharves Board of Trustees has approved an operating agreement with the Battleship Texas Foundation, paving the way for the restored warship to berth at Pier 15 in Galveston.

Good morning, Houston! It’s going to be sunny and hot all day. We officially reached 100 degrees for the first time this year on Tuesday and could challenge that again today. The high temp is slated to be around 97 degrees. Stay hydrated and have a great Wednesday!
