Shock like that snatches you from equilibrium, spins you into a #vortex. Hollow cheeked, it sucks in sunshine and wheat fields, stirs them with ditchwater, drills you down to where blood runs cold and dark and the sides are too slippery to climb back up. #vss365
There are so many harrowing stories of what the children of Gaza are having to deal with. I was moved to write this poem from the point of view of a child. Originally called 'LANA'S WISH', I changed it to 'VALUATION'; at times like these, we realise what's important. #poetry

The girl in the #prism is a hummingbird, in love with the world’s ultraviolet. Her words powderfall, pollinating their eyes with tiny lights so they may see too. When cracked, she is sealed golden, still reflecting what is beautiful so no one will know her sorrow. #vss365
A lovely challenge of 42 words on the theme of 'Silence' set by our fab host @soopoftheday for @TopTweetTuesday. Here's my poem 'WATERQUELL'. Have a great, but quiet day, Sue! 🤫 #poetry #poetrycommunity #poetrylovers

She lies in the velvet #moment between sleep and wakefulness, her compass readjusting, finding her shape on the bed, hands still curled like a baby's. As a glimmer of dawn seeps around the window, the colours of poetry stir in her mind. #vss365
