A judgement like this, in any other context, would have had all the broadcasters wallowing in angst about the past effects on women of the law having been misinterpreted. But this is a special case, where it is all about the group that was trampling on the actual law.

How did she know this person is a trans woman? Is she admitting to being some kind of transphobic bigot who claims they can tell which people in dresses and lipstick are men?

No one claimed to have the slightest difficulty distinguishing males from females until a few males started claiming to be women, and demanding that everyone else pretend to believe their claim.

"Proven". The claim to a gender identity rests entirely on ineffable personal revelation. It is no more meaningful than the claim to a religious soul. One might as well say that one's shoe size didn't match one's spirit animal.
