Took some time to write down the best definition of love I have come across. “Love is helping someone become more themself” This kind of love conquers all problems. gregwhite.blog/love/
There really aren’t resources constraints, only an unwillingness to find and utilize them
The groundbreaking discovery at the Ramaco Brook Mine marks a turning point for America as the first new rare earth facility in 7 DECADES, containing 1.7 MILLION tons of rare earth oxides. Developing American supply chains for rare earth minerals STRENGTHENS our energy security.
Seems like people find a villain compelling when they’re right on the message but wrong in their methods. Finally makes sense why I hate all modern movies. The villains are all nihilistic and anti-human.
The GENIUS Act is a huge win for banks, stablecoin issuers, and the US dollar (for a time) It’s a huge loss for consumers. The GENIUS act bans stablecoin issuers from sharing the interest they make from deposits Banks will continue making money on our money without sharing
Abundance will emerge in Texas for this reason. Foundational to material abundance is energy abundance and ERCOT has the only working model leading to that future.
40%. Not capacity. Actual energy. Let that sink in. TX is a top-10 global economy by GDP TX is largest electricity-consuming state in the US TX has the closest thing to a free market for electricity in the US TX is one of the fastest growing economies in the US
The arms race begins!
At their launch Cluely claimed it would kill 9 industries. We're here to kill just one: cheating. Meet Truely — the open-source tool that flags AI-assisted interviews in real time. Works with Zoom, Meets, Teams, and more. The future of online interviews is here.
Cost of living = cost to make things If you mentally replace these phrases the world makes a lot more sense. The cost to make things is more driven by bureaucracy and regulation than by scarcity or greed. Let people build and people will prosper.
Whenever true autonomous AGI and humanoid robotics come out it, will usher in the age of conglomerates (at least temporarily) Tech forward companies (Amazon and Tesla in particular) will enter adjacent markets before old school incumbents adopt the new tech in time to survive
Water scarcity is definitely a choice. But cloud seeding doesn’t produce more fresh water it just takes from downwind. The only legitimate source of new fresh water is from saltwater or waste water. That’s where we should focus.
There are GWs of electricity potential in flared gas alone in the USA That's not even counting the myriad cases where wells shut in because pipelines are connected but can't take their gas A key component in energy abundance is unstranding energy we already have available
Insurance is a carbon tax by other means. The price of fire, flood, property insurance reflect reality better than any other system because insurance companies would go bankrupt if they ignore reality. The market always finds a way.
I’m discovering a phenomenon where people that pay to not be advertised to (on X, Hulu, YouTube, etc) are far more independent thinkers than those I know that are constantly advertised to Not sure if it is correlation or causation, but it’s pretty consistent.
Solar energy is as close to manna from heaven as we are likely to get in this life. We go out every day and collect this abundant resources, take what we need before it expires and we do it all over again tomorrow.
