I haven’t always been a fan of Charlotte’s babyface character turns, but this latest one feels different. I write about why that might be in my latest @PWTorch Parks’s Take below.

Of course I believe marketing has fallen short. I just don't know how much of the blame goes on the UFL writ large versus those who had jobs in-market to advertise the product, whether national or local marketing is more effective, etc. etc.

I agree on transparency, but no league is going to come out and say "we need X amount of fans or we're moving the team." That kind of thing would have a negative trickle-down effect not only on fans, but venues, cities, potential local sponsors, etc.

The ratings are a legitimate side-effect in all of this. For as much as some like to call the UFL a TV product and that attendance matters little, I think we're seeing that theory isn't holding a lot of water right now.

Yeah, I think the league would probably agree these were not ideal choices, but they were sorta boxed in by the existing USFL/XFL markets and the short turnaround time after the merger. I think we're seeing an attempt at course correction here.

I appreciate the need to do "something." I get it. And there's always going to be a faction in each city, such as yourself, that is willing to "show up." The problem comes when not enough people in that city are willing to "show up" to games to make it financially viable. #UFL

I appreciate that #UFL fans want to do everything in their power to "save" their teams from extinction. The problem is, it appears as if the reason they're in this mess has to do more with the venue, either $ or workability. And a petition isn't going to eliminate those barriers.

I first started watching wrestling when Hulk Hogan was THE man. It was larger than life characters like him that brought me into the fold. It's a shame Terry Bollea couldn't live up to the standards Hulk Hogan set.

While there's a lot of other #UFL news and speculation out there, the second of my two-part look at the deepest position groups of NFL teams heading into training camp is now live, this time looking at NFC teams. @TheUFL

Crazy note: This is @XFLRoughnecks third NFL signing from their 2025 team, which already matches the total number of signings to the NFL they had from all of 2024. #UFL

This is certainly an interesting angle on relocation. Was Skip lied to by UFL management? And if so, what’s the fallout from that? I’m sure he’s not happy he made this proclamation only for last night’s news to break. #UFL

Well that’s an interesting turn of events and some much needed good news for the league. The right and obvious move. #UFL
