Postdoctoral researcher at @cibiocm, University of Trento, Italy
I'm thrilled to announce that I just started my postdoc journey at @cibiocm! I will continue exploring the cancer microbiome! New data and new challenges!!
Gianmarco Is now a Ph.D.!!! With Laude!!! Congrats @gpiccinn
New metagenomic sequencing of gut microbiomes from 1,098 individuals led by @fasnicar, @saraheeberry, @nsegata & colleagues can potentially stratify the gut microbiome into generalizable health levels in individuals without clinically manifest disease ow.ly/OHkw30rsexh
Analysis of the gut #microbiome from over 1,000 individuals in the PREDICT-1 study unveil new associations between specific microbes, #diet and cardiometabolic health. Read the paper by @nsegata @saraheeberry @fasnicar & colleagues 👉🏾nature.com/articles/s4159…
Then we applied ML and partial correlations and found that microbial composition is linked with diet (foods, food groups, nutrients, and dietary indexes). Some anecdotal examples are the strong links of B. animalis with yogurt and L. asaccharolyticus with coffee ☕️
Then we check single-species partial correlations with fasting, postprandial, and postprandial rises data, finding consistent results when comparing fasting and postprandial conditions than postprandial rises @gpiccinn
Most of the metagenomic analysis was performed by our @fasnicar, such a terrific job Francesco! And a lot of contributions from other lab members @gpiccinn @MireiaVallesc @chocophlan @leonardubois @bazz96link @andrew_m_thomas. Thanks all!!
Our paper on links between the gut microbiome & (i) diet (ii) cardiometabolic markers in fasting conditions (iii) postprandial markers & (iv) obesity is out!Analysis led by @fasnicar data by @Join_ZOE big thanks to @saraheeberry @timspector & many others nature.com/articles/s4159…
