This male kingfisher was dazzling in the sunshine this morning. He's spent the last few weeks rearing 5 chicks that finally fledged, on the Water of Leith, on Sunday morning. Hopefully the adults will stick together for a second brood! 🤞 #Edinburgh #urbanwildlife #waterofleith

A lack of wind & low water levels have made it ideal conditions, for a bit of reflective photography, on the Water of Leith, over the last couple of days or so! #Mallard #Heron #Goosander #Edinburgh #wildlife #wildlifephotography #TwitterNatureCommunity #urbanwildlife

There were plenty herons on the Water of Leith this morning! This one flew passed me at Warriston. #heron #Edinburgh #wildlife #wildlifephotography #TwitterNatureCommunity #TwitterNaturePhotography #wildlifeinthecity #urbanwildlife

Thanks to Paul, editor of @thecandbnews for featuring me in the Jul/Aug issue of the C&B News! The magazine covers Currie, Balerno, Juniper Green, Baberton Mains & Colinton - all of which, are areas that I am frequently in, as I walk along the Water of Leith, with my camera!

What a great trip to the Isle of May this week - the sun shone, puffin numbers were up & we even saw dolphins on the boat back to Anstruther! #isleofmay #superseabirdsunday #puffins #wildlife #wildlifephotography #TwitterNatureCommunity #TwitterNaturePhotography

Lovely sight this morning on the Water of Leith - an otter mum out with her new cub (1st 2 pics). Born in March, ventured out of the natal holt at the end of May & Mum has been at its side ever since, teaching it the way of the water! #Edinburgh #TwitterNatureCommunity #otters

I don’t often get to see #badgers in daylight on the Water of Leith but I got lucky this morning! For the next 8 weeks there's a chance of seeing them in daylight for an hour after sunrise & an hour before sunset 🦡🤞 #Edinburgh #wildlife #urbanwildlife #TwitterNatureCommunity

Over the last 7-10 days, dippers chicks have started appearing on the Water of Leith, from Balerno down to Leith. Their grey colouring helps camouflage them amongst the rocks & boulders, on the river, so you may hear them B4 you see them! #waterofleith #urbanwildlife #edinburgh

Never a dull day on the Water of Leith! 1. Kingfisher with snack 2. Heron gets too close to a moorhen nest 3. Underwater male eider & 4. a herring gull with, what looks like, a very old golf ball! #waterofleith #Edinburgh #urbanwildlife #wildlife #TwitterNatureCommunity
