Experience a day in the life as @UCLAstemcell trainee Christopher Ochoa, a @UCLA PhD candidate developing novel immunotherapies to target aggressive gynecologic cancers in @golabnow. 🏋🏽👨🏽🔬🧫 #OvarianCancer #EndometrialCancer #Immunotherapy
Recently, our director Dr. Sanaz Memarzadeh was a panelist at the Alliance for Cancer Gene Therapy @ACGTFoundation Summit. She discussed the challenges our lab & others face in developing gene therapies for Women’s Cancer as well as the instrumental progress that has been made.

Read more about Dr. Memarzadeh’s passion for helping women with gynecologic cancers below. Our lab is committed to this mission & continues to make strides in understanding gynecologic cancers & discovering novel treatments to better the lives of women impacted by these cancers.
Dr. Sanaz Memarzadeh’s journey in medicine began with a childhood fascination for science. Today, she’s a leading oncologic surgeon & researcher @UCLA @golabnow working to develop more effective therapies that prevent ovarian cancer recurrence. stemcell.ucla.edu/news/turning-s…
Dr. Sanaz Memarzadeh (@golabnow) is leading a cross-disciplinary research force at UCLA to change the trajectory of ovarian cancer. Her mission: eliminate relapse and engineer hope for women with one of the deadliest cancers. Read more about her work: bit.ly/4nNp5xb
We want to highlight this powerful story on Paulinda Schimmel Babbini, dear friend & longtime supporter of the Lab. With the Ovarian @cancercircle Inspired by Robin Babbini we are stronger & equipped to overcome our goal of eradicating ovarian cancer. uclahealth.org/news/publicati…

Dr. Sanaz Memarzadeh sat down with Umagazine to highlight the urgent need to combat ovarian cancer. We are grateful for our collaborations with innovative scientists to solve the problem of ovarian cancer. Read more about this powerful team of scientists uclahealth.org/news/publicati…

Happy Birthday to the best lab manager, Gabriella! We had a lovely lab lunch today to celebrate.

🔬✨ "What does a scientist actually do?" "How is college different from high school?" Our amazing trainees brought the answers straight to LA high schoolers through interactive presentations as part of the center's Outreach Program. #STEMEducation #ScienceOutreach
Congratulations to graduate student Christopher Ochoa on his UCLA Health JCCC 2025 Symposium Call for Poster Award. Chris presented his project profiling gynecologic carcinosarcomas and their vulnerabilities to NK Cell-based immunotherapies. Great job Chris!

Congratulations to undergraduate Sofia Garza on her Science Dean’s Prize focused on studying models that recapitulate aggressive uterine carcinosarcomas. We are so proud!

Undergraduate researcher, Jessica Gebraeel, shared her research with high school students as part of the @UCLAstemcell Stem Cell Ambassador Program. Jess is inspiring and empowering the next generation of scientists by bringing research to the classroom.

This #WorldOvarianCancerDay, we highlight the work of Dr. Sanaz Memarzadeh @golabnow and Dr. Lili Yang, who have teamed up to develop a novel immunotherapy they hope will transform ovarian cancer treatment. ➡️ bit.ly/3XsEVBS
Last week, in collaboration with the Yang Lab, we published in STAR protocols outlining a protocol to profile the tumor and microenvironment from ovarian cancer patient samples as well as in-vitro assays to evaluate cell-based immunotherapies. doi.org/10.1016/j.xpro…
