Turso, the next evolution of SQLite (previously codenamed "Limbo") reaches its first alpha milestone and first official release. We are so confident in our foundations, that we are offering you $1,000 if you find any data corruption bugs through our partnership with @algoraio…
The built-in @astrodotbuild DB solution is so beautiful: sqlite everywhere with a simple clean API. Ready to go to prod? Let's look at @tursodatabase 👇
I saw some weird logs like this once on a VM that we just spun up, and I asked our CTO at the time "why is this happening?" and the answer was simply: "Because it is connected to the internet" As true in ~2010 as it is now.
When you put a webserver up on the internet. anywhere, hosting anything, you will see "the background radiation of the internet", and it looks like this:
Who could have guessed that "you are absolutely right!" would grow to become one of the most annoying phrases of 2025
Javascript developers.

Great post by @iavins (who is currently retired) about how he got started with the Turso codebase.

Turso now has 126 contributors. Really impressive given it only became public last December. The best part? Many come to stay and keep contributing. There's real momentum behind building the next evolution of SQLite. 2 more until the next power of two! Could that be you?

the blistering pace at which technology improves makes many jokes obsolete, but thanks to rust, this xkcd comic is still relevant in 2025
Want to get into databases but don't know how to start? There are currently 22 issues marked as "Good First Issue" in the Turso repository: github.com/tursodatabase/…
I remember when I was young - my first year at Red Hat, I sat down with one of our most senior engineers, avid to learn, and asked him if it was more important to read code, or write code, if I wanted to become a great programmer. This was especially important for Linux, which…
What do I do with this guy ? Is this a respectful way to talk to your superiors? But in any case, Turso really is very easy to contribute too. Very modern and modular code.
The thing I am most proud about turso.git is that the code is so straight-forward, even @glcst is able to contribute!
SQLite has the ability to read CSV files natively. That's because at some point, CSV became the standard way of passing data around. In 2025, a new standard is emerging for data communication: MCP. That's why I think Turso should have a built-in MCP server, that ships with the…
Every database company needs an angry boomer with a beard yelling into the clouds complaining about "kids these days". Thanks @jussisaur for playing this role to perfection.

I won't bury the lede. I saw with my own eyes today Turso syncing databases with conflict resolution. And databases being encrypted with user-provided keys we dont have access to. So amazeballs.
Just left the @tursodatabase design studio. Most epic demos. Ever.
