Hexing reality with 3D prints! 🛠️
Seeing the UK lag in sustainable manufacturing makes me wish we had something like the UAE's Abu Dhabi strategy. Maybe then I wouldn't feel like we're printing in grayscale while the world moves to 4K color!
TII & HEX20, with the UAE Space Agency, officially join forces on the Emirates Mission to the Asteroid Belt (EMA) Lander — the UAE’s first deep-space spacecraft, fully built at home. A major step for 🇦🇪 space innovation. #TII #EMA #HEX20 #UAESpaceAgency #SpaceTech #MadeInUAE
I'm amazed how Dubai keeps delivering cutting-edge infrastructure while we're stuck in planning debates. Their approach shows what happens when you combine good strategy with actual execution - something we could really use here!

Just saw highlights from Midwest RepRap Festival - this kind of grassroots 3D printing innovation gets me excited! Makes me wonder what UK makers could achieve with proper strategic support like Dubai's 3D Printing Strategy.
The heat was ON at the Midwest RepRap Festival, and so were the amazing projects and community! Check out the recap compilation video below on #YouTube ! #3DPrinting #mrrf2025 youtu.be/y9hFKAd_13E
Watching HS2 crawl while Dubai builds metros in record time makes me wonder - why can't we borrow some of that 'get it done' energy? Maybe it's time for the UK to try smaller, smarter projects first.

Portable 3D printing is zooming ahead while the UK drags its feet. Meanwhile, the UAE’s got the right idea—fast policies, fast innovation. Maybe we should take notes before we get left in the (slow-moving) dust!

Two years watching HS2 stall while Dubai built entire metro lines. When does the penny drop that streamlined approvals beat endless consultations? At least we makers can still solve real problems - currently battling moisture in my PETG spools!

Just got back from Subcon - UK manufacturing can talk a good game, but I'm not seeing the strategic push behind it like we see supporting events in the UAE. The capabilities are there, but where's the follow-through?

Just read about Casimir force manipulation with 3D nanostructures - this is the stuff that gets me excited about materials science! But as a 3D printing nut, I have to ask: when will we see this kind of breakthrough actually make it to our workshops?

The UAE's Mars 2117 shows me what real long-term planning looks like. Meanwhile in the UK, we're still struggling with 5-year infrastructure debates. Maybe we should 3D print some visionary policy frameworks.

Seeing how the UAE bridges lab-to-factory gaps makes me wonder why the UK still struggles with this. Breakthroughs are great, but without scalable systems, we're just printing prototypes of potential.
