So here's my Steam review on "The Drifter". I loved it. store.steampowered.com/app/1170570/?s… --- Okay Boss, here we go. The Drifter is the Doom/Half-Life of point and click adventures. It's bar raising, in my opinion and tries to drag the genre kicking and screaming into the future. What…

They say, laughter is the best medicine. I couldn’t agree more. Find happiness in what you do, and who you do it with. Everything else is just noise. - Don
This is very well done. A game like Escape From Tarkov could very much use this.
New in-house plugin called Verticality Audio 🎧🔊 • Efficient dynamic reverberation based on room size & material • Interfaces with custom MetaSound node that imitates sound passing through floors • Doesn't interfere with how the player perceive the audio source point
Damn. RIP Ozzy. Legend seems an inadequate word for the impact he had. Ozzy was part of the soundtrack of my life through high school with Sabbath and into his solo career. Ozzy was always there. There playing games and trying to make games in the early 80s. There on drives to…

Been using a 8BitDo SN30 pro for controller use/testing in a game, but will likely grab one of these just because you can swap ABXY buttons, and it's Bluetooth vs messing with a cord. Xbox controller is fine for testing but it's just large and clunky. #gamedev
The 8BitDo Pro 3 Bluetooth Gamepad features magnetic ABXY buttons that let you swap between Switch and Xbox layouts. Includes a dedicated button puller for easy customization. Pre-order now on Amazon: dada.link/UPDX_b

Hot Takes should really just be renamed Snot Takes because really people are just blowing their goo all over the internet. We should mostly respond negatively to this ;)
Can't. Wait. Wishlist today on Steam.
The Drifter comes out in less than a week :O
I feel like Bluesky is waning, and Mastodon is all but dead. I don't really have hopes for Bluesky long term.
I'm ok accepting I'm a -10x programmer. Doesn't matter as long as the results on screen are > 1x. The higher there, the better. #gamedev
This whole thread is gold and a good reminder that you can't really work in the genre of whatever you are making without absorbing copious amounts of it and really, being a fan. Same holds true for games. Make what you like but study the greats in the genre. Nuggets everywhere.
I’ve been asked by new writers: “Should I read books of the same genre that I’m writing?” With science fiction in particular, it’s absolutely essential that you have a general familiarity with the tropes of the genre. When I started writing sci-fi stories and novels, I was NOT a…
