English jazz singer, Cleo Laine, has died at 97. In 1986, Laine was nominated for a Tony for The Mystery of Edwin Drood and won a Grammy for a live jazz albim.

Smooth jazz pioneer, Chuck Mangione, has died at 84. He had a pop hit in 1978 with Feels So Good.

The film, The Other Side of the Mountain, was released 50 years ago today. Starring Marilyn Hassett, the film told the story of Olympian, Jill Kinmont, who was paralyzed after a ski accident.

Ozzy Osbourne, lead singer of Black Sabbath, has died at 76. Osbourne's total record sales as a band member and solo artist totals over 100 million albums worldwide.

Actor, Kenneth Colley, who played Admiral Piett in The Empire Strikes Back & Return of the Jedi, has died at 87.

Documentary filmmaker, D. A. Pennebaker, was born 100 years ago today. Pennebaker is best known for his concert films, Don't Look Back, Monterey Pop, Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars & 101. He also directed the political doc, The War Room.
