Our human relationship project (see the past thread below) has now been officially published in Nature Human Behavior nature.com/articles/s4156…. The article PDF can be freely download here rdcu.be/edpa2. We also wrote a behind-the-paper blog communities.springernature.com/posts/mapping-….
I am beyond excited to share a new preprint from my lab ‘The Conceptual Structure of Human Relationships across Modern and Historical Cultures’. We discovered a universal representational space of social relationship concepts. doi.org/10.31234/osf.i…
In this new paper, co-authored with Mathias Schmitz and @MarineRougier, we present the Brief Reverse Correlation. This improved version of the tool aims at measuring visual representations of social groups but opens the way to using individual images !!! @JeremyCone2 @easpinfo
Been waiting for this post. So thrilled that @LinChujun is joining us this July!

Finally out @NatureHumBehav🚨 Across a large set of mental states, traits, situations, and faces, and participants in five continents🌎 We showed that face impressions shape inferences of others' momentary thoughts and feelings in various situations nature.com/articles/s4156…
🚨New in @PNASNews, led by @DSchultner & Ben Stillerman: In 8 studies, we test a mechanism through which exposure to societal stereotypes—even those we know may be false—can implicitly transform into individual-level prejudice and then spread across a community.
Excited to announce that Columbia's Department of Psychology is hiring a tenure-track faculty member! Emphasis on multi-method expertise and research programs that complement current strengths in the Department. Come join us! Review begins Nov. 1: apply.interfolio.com/157376

🚨FIRST ever preprint from my lab is out!! A year of hard work with my visiting grad @LynnWang98_🤩 👉doi.org/10.31234/osf.i… We analyzed stereotypes using naturalistic storytelling and language models across two pre-registered studies with U.S. representative samples🧵👇

New research shows how brains process multiracial identities in real-time by using a computer technique to track hand movements. ✍️: @jahchwe, @freemanjb, David J. Lick Read more in Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin: ow.ly/YuJt50TfqYf
New work in PSPB led by @jahchwe! 3-choice mouse-tracking reveals that when people make Multiracial categorizations they initially activate monoracial categories (White or Black) - but Multiracial exposure can attenuate this reflexive monoracial bias. journals.sagepub.com/doi/full/10.11…
Happy to announce new work published in PSPB with @freemanjb and DJ Lick! 🎉 We explore the dynamics of Multiracial categorizations using a 3-choice mousetracking task! Take a look here: journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/01…
