Woke up with a new arrest warrant & a HKD1m bounty. Grateful for those who reached out & offered support to me & fellow #Hongkongers who are wanted by the govt. As I process this, let me reiterate that my advocacy for democracy & freedom has not and will not stop. #FreeHK ✊🏼

In a statement responding to the piece, the HK gov says #JimmyLai chose solitary. Did he also request an overheated, windowless cell, 23 hrs/day lockdown & conditions the UN calls torture? info.gov.hk/gia/general/20…
#JimmyLai has spent 1,650+ days in detention in #HongKong under conditions the UN deems torture. @MarkLClifford in @WSJ warns: “Time is running out for Hong Kong to find a solution.” HK must release the #AppleDaily7 before further staining its rule of law. wsj.com/opinion/the-pe…

It was great to attend ytd's @SenateForeign @SFRCdems hearing spotlighting #HongKong’s fight for freedoms, with powerful testimony from @OliviaEnos @SophieDRich @_joeysiu @caoilfhionnanna. Business is not as usual in HK—the US response must meet the gravity of what’s unfolding.
1/ Yesterday, the @SenateForeign @SFRCdems' subcommittee hosted a hearing on #HongKong’s democracy & human rights—five years after Beijing’s judicial takeover with witnesses @OliviaEnos, @_joeysiu, @SophieDRich & @caoilfhionnanna. A thread on the highlights⬇️
Important from @yingyuchen9 on impact of #Boston jury decision to acquit a man accused of being a #China agent despite strong evidence of him harassing & intimidating @thecfhk's @frances_hui & other #HongKong democracy activists #TransnationalRepression bostonglobe.com/2025/07/18/opi…
It’s always been an honor working w/ @RepMoolenaar & his @committeeonccp in regards to the HKETO & other #HongKong issues since 2023. We will continue to work diligently to garner support on both bills and get them through the floor of both houses. Thank you for your leadership🤝
Thank you @RepMoolenaar @committeeonccp for cosponsoring the Hong Kong Judicial Sanctions Act (H.R.733) and the HKETO Certification Act (H.R.2661). Your leadership in holding the CCP accountable and unwavering support for Hongkongers’ fight for freedom are deeply appreciated.
Appreciated @RepNateMoran’s time today and especially your support in my fight. Your commitment to holding the #CCP and #HongKong authorities to account strengthens our movement. Looking forward to working with you on various issues we discussed to stand with Hongkongers' freedom
Thank you @RepNateMoran for meeting with us and for your steadfast support of our cause. The #CCP & the #HongKong authorities must be held accountable for their ongoing repression. We look forward to working together to safeguard the freedom and human rights of the people in HK.
Congratulations to @SenDanSullivan on being named the new chairman of @CECCgov! Your leadership is vital in holding the Chinese govt accountable & defending human rights in #HongKong and beyond. I look forward to working with you to push for that. thecfhk.org/cfhk-foundatio…
Grateful to @committeeonccp and @CmteOnCCPDems for this timely and rightful call. The U.S. must uphold accountability for Hong Kong authorities whose actions continue to erode the rights of Hongkongers and extend repression beyond their borders. @SecRubio @StateDept
We welcome a bipartisan letter from @committeeonccp @CmteOnCCPDems calling for U.S. Sec of State @SecRubio to consider sanctions against #HongKong police chief Joe Chow 周一鳴 thecfhk.org/cfhk-foundatio…
Honored to have spoken at today’s Symposium on the 10th #709Crackdown, highlighting how Beijing’s Sinicization is eroding #HongKong's religious freedom. I called the US (@POTUS) & the Vatican (@Pontifex) to strengthen their responses to support religious communities in China & HK
Today at the Symposium marking the 10th anniversary of the #709Crackdown, CFHK’s @frances_hui, author of the report “Hostile Takeover,” joined Rep. Chris Smith @CECCgov & leading experts to examine China's #ReligiousFreedom & alarming threats to religious communities in #HongKong
We were honored to see Rep. Chris Smith join the second panel of today’s symposium, bringing critical attention to the CCP’s assault on religious freedom and the rule of law. His continued advocacy is a powerful voice for human rights.
This morning, CFU is attending “Ten Years After the 709 Crackdown,” a symposium hosted by @chinaaid and @Ipkmedia, examining the CCP’s repression of human rights lawyers, religious freedom, and civil society in China.
Looks like #HongKong #JohnLee has misplaced his copy of the #MandelaRules, which set out prisoners’ rights on these issues, and of the #ICCPR.
#HongKong govt today proposes prison rule amendments, giving the correctional services dept (CSD) power to curb inmates’ legal, religious, comms & basic rights and allowing it to further isolate political prisoners on national security grounds. Here are 5 things you should know👇
I will speak at the US Capitol tomorrow on China’s Religious Freedom, particularly on the deterioration in Hong Kong discussed in my @thecfhk's 'Hostile Takeover' report and the new warning signs. Tune in online at 11 am tomorrow for the panel discussion - youtube.com/live/W2c03qPFq…
