Ausrottung isn't a "code word" or whatever. Here’s a '43 German Foreign Office document in which “auszurotten" (“Ausrottung”) is used to translate the term "annihilate" in an English statement about massing killings of Jews made by the American rabbi Stephen Wise into German.
