On Sunday, we boarded the 830 @DalesBus at Ribblehead for a glorious walk over the moors from Healaugh to Gunnerside via Great Pinseat. Sunshine, a cool breeze, fabulous views and refreshments at the Community Pub in Gunnerside. Perfect!

This Sunday we'll be walking 8 miles from Healaugh to Gunnerside via the desolate summit of Great Pinseat with amazing views of the surrounding countryside We'll be leaving Ribblehead at 10:36 taking @DalesBus to Healaugh. For details click here foscl.org.uk/guided-walks

Last weekend we ventured to remote Wild Boar Fell, the 4th highest peak in Yorkshire. It is always a special place to visit and those who took on this challenging walk were rewarded with fine long range view and no rain for a change!

It's now easier to visit the Yorkshire Dales sustainably this summer. Catch the train then hop on one of the summer Sunday bus services for visitors travelling on the scenic Leeds-Settle-Carlisle railway line. Tip 127 of #200tips for #Railway200 communityrail.org.uk/settle-carlisl… @foscl
Bonus walk this Sunday...Ribblehead to Horton. Our second walk starting at Ribblehead (10:38) with its famous viaduct before journeying to Thorns, a long-deserted hamlet, and finishes at Horton foscl.org.uk/guided-walks

Saying goes "Ne’er cast a clout till May be out". Given the unseasonable weather on Saturday's walk to see potholes around Horton-in-Ribblesdale it should be changed to "July". The hardy souls who braved the weather got to see the waterfall at full force pouring in to Hull Pot!

I’ve been very fortunate to have several images published in next years Modern Traction 2026 Calendar, this image was also a trial with the Mavic 2 Zoom drone to enable a standard 50mm picture taken at Ribblehead Viaduct, quite possibly my shot of the year too. Thanks goes to 🙏…
