Forging Mind
@forgingmind
Australian based 3D digital artist fascinated with creating order and balance through geometric form and colour. I'm not a mathematician but I love #mathart ⚛️
A more stylised version of my previous post based on a figure of eight knot. #octanerender #knotart
Credit to @EtherDais for going through the journey to parameterise this variation of the figure of eight knot: x = 1/3 (cos(t)+2 cos(3t) ) y = 1/3 (sin(t)-2 sin(3t) ) z = sin(2t+0.2) I made the animation on the left, swept the spline made from the above formula with a square then…

~ VoroTor ~ Short for voronoi noise on a torus :) When do you think #AIArt can create, animate AND seamlessly loop something like this? How far away are we? #octanerender
New hand-built ceramic piece employing negative curvature
~ Figure of 8 ~ @EtherDais I got as far as the Figure of 8, but couldn't parameterise that last model from the other post :( I can visualise what needs to be done - fold the outer rings forwards until they cross... These are the parameters I used for the Figure of 8 that works…
~ StarLight ~ I like the way the colourful glints dance about on the metallic material as it rotates, almost hypnotising, would you agree? Rendered in #octanerender
A cabinet of geometrical wonders at the university of Nottingham
~ TipToe ~ My single cell gyroid tip-toeing on a vertex...🤔 #octanerender #mathart
Clever stuff….
My Gear Fractal can now be found on @Thangs3D at thangs.com/RuvenBals
~ PolyKnot Glow ~ I was exploring modelling these polyknot/starball designs over the weekend. I've always been fascinated with these models and making sense of how the geometry flows in and out of itself.
