Just ran into a group of about twenty seventy year olds standing on the street in Taipei with signs opposing the recall. It’s kind of amazing how stark the difference between the ‘for’ and ‘against’ sides are - one side, close to death, the other side, the future of Taiwan.

Typhoon Wipha is passing through the Bashi Channel right now, bringing torrential rain to eastern Taiwan. Rains will continue for the next few days.
